This first post is a part of a three-part series of my recent New York City weekend trip. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the weather was lovely. We had dinner reservations at Sushi Nakazawa that evening followed by drinks at The Up and Up. Sushi Nakazawa is a Michelin Star restaurant that has a dress code. I knew this was going to be a fun and fancy experience, so I opted for my attire to match the experience. One of the fanciest things I own is this Blue Mélange Turban by David Dalrymple from Patricia Field Art Fashion. I LOVE everything about this turban. From the glamor to the edginess, this piece is a talking point. I recently bought this Anthropologie Sabina Shimmer Maxi skirt in blue, and it happened to match the turban perfectly. Not only does it shimmer but shows a little leg from the slit on the side. Subtle sexiness. The skirt is high waisted with detail at the waist that had to be seen. I paired it with this Frida Off-Shoulder Halter Top in black from Anthropologie. This top is great for summer that I feel can transition into fall. I was going to wear a different top with this skirt. However, when it was tucked in the skirt, you could see it bunched at the waist. Tip: when wearing high waisted pants or skirt, and you don’t want to tuck your top in, choose a crop top to avoid tucking in the top. As mentioned before, we were going to The Up and Up after din din. I figured we would we probably walk there, so I wanted to wear comfortable yet sexy shoes. I chose the Kelly & Katie Himesta Wedge Sandal in black from DSW. I love a good ankle strap because I feel it flatters your leg. To add a bit more color to this look, I chose this super cute Kate Spade Candy Bar Clutch. To compliment the turban, I wore my silver Lagos tassel earrings. They also went with the shimmer of the skirt. Whoop whoop! Dinner and drinks were amazing but most importantly, with this outfit, I felt amazing! Thanks for reading! Check back next week for part 2!
